Direct Energy and a group of manufacturers have joined forces offer energy efficient retrofits for commercial, institutional and residential high-rise buildings. Launched July 24, the Canadian Environmental Equipment Manufacturers Alliance (CEEMA) goal is to help building owners and operators reduce energy consumption and costs by reviewing their buildings central heating and cooling systems. In addition to Direct Energy, the members are: GasMaster a boiler manufacturer Smardt Cooling Inc. manufacturer of an efficient oilless chiller. The Cooling Tower Co. cooling tower and air handler manufacturer. Direct Energy has recently been involved in HVAC retrofit projects at the University of Calgary and Canadian Forces Base Kingston.
