The SMART ERV (energy recovery ventilator) is the newest addition to the line. This unit is designed to provide fresh air supply and humidity control for residential housing. It automatically pre-tempers incoming air in all seasons, preventing humidity from entering in the summer and keeping humidity inside during the winter.
A unique poly wheel with desiccant coating yields up to 80 percent heat recovery efficiency, reports the manufacturer. Twin variable speed fans allow the installer to adjust airflow from 50 cfm to 240 cfm, so the single unit can be adjusted for almost any size of home. The SMART ERV also removes harmful contaminants that can build up in the home, such as radon, odors, formaldehyde, viruses and bacteria. The two standard pleated filters remove contaminants as small as five microns.
