Fulton has introduced a new version of its Vantage commercial condensing boiler that is designed to use B100 biodiesel and ultra-low sulfur (under 15 ppm) heating oils for full condensing operation. Independent tests at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, N.Y. (www.bnl.gov) show that “the Vantage can meet or exceed the thermal efficiencies attainable with natural gas,” reported the manufacturer. The biodiesels used in the Brookhaven test included those produced from both soybeans and recycled tallow (animal fat). The B100 is available in sizes up to 4,000,000 Btu/h.
