Air and gas purification

Sulfur Guard by MicroPure Filtration, Cleveland, Ohio, purifies compressed air and gas streams by removing sulphur compounds, aromatic hydrocarbons, aldehydes, and other potential contaminants through chemical absorption. Ideal as a bulk or point-of-use vapour polisher. A formulation of filter adsorbents has special properties that, when combined with activated carbon, chemically converts hydrogen sulphide and carbonyl sulphide into a stable form, ensuring that the adsorbed contaminants will not desorb back into the pure filtered air/sas stream.

The large capacity filter element allows high flows at low pressure drop, which allows a much smaller filter to be used as compared to traditional carbon filter housings. This technology uses a multi-stage approach to purify air and gas, and remove potentially harmful submicron particle contaminants and bacteria, which may cause off-flavours and spoilage problems. Sulfur Guard is ideal for carbonated soft drink production, breweries and beverage processing and packaging plants, and anywhere that pure compressed air and gas quality is critical.

Under normal levels of contamination, the filter cartridges should be changed every 12 months. The filter media is completely contained in the filter element, so there is no loose, messy carbon to change. Easy access to filter elements allows quick and easy filter changes.
