Food service equipment is just one of the eligible products under the ESB program.

Edmonton, Alberta — Alberta businesses looking to decrease operating costs by improving the efficiency of their infrastructure could receive up to $1 million in incentives through the Energy Savings for Business (ESB) program.

Businesses can receive up to $250,000 per project and up to $1 million per parent company to purchase and install energy-saving measures.

All business and non-profits serviced by an Alberta electric utility are eligible, except for residences, new construction projects, municipally, federal and provincially owned buildings, publicly funded institutions and large emitters —as defined under Alberta’s TIER regulation.

Eligible organizations include, but are not limited to individual businesses, non-profit organizations, co-operatives, private schools not eligible for government funding, the common spaces and equipment in multi-unit residential buildings, and farms registered as a business.

Compressed air measures, process heating, refrigeration, food service equipment, HVAC, motors and drives, water heating, combined heat and power (CHP), lighting systems, building envelope and windows, geothermal, agricultural lighting, and waste energy recovery are eligible for incentives through the program.
