Toronto, ON — Students attending a program within the mechanical trades could receive a bit of extra funds to go towards their education. The Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada (MCAC) has opened the application process for the 2021 Richard McKeagan Scholarship series. Just shy of $16,000 will be awarded via the scholarship awards for eligible students. Applications must be in by August 13.

Named after Richard McKeagan, a former CEO of MCAC, the scholarship targets students interested in joining the mechanical contracting industry. In partnership with the Construction Education Council (CEC) and the MCAC Associate Members, the scholarship has awarded more than $60,000 to students since 2006.
To qualify for the scholarship, eligible applicants must be an MCAC student chapter member or child/ward of a salaried employee of an MCAC member company, must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program towards a degree, certificate, or diploma from an accredited Canadian university, college, or apprenticeship program, and must not receive a major scholarship or bursary.
