Canadian company recalls fireplaces due to fire hazard

By Plumbing & HVAC Staff on May 22, 2019 News

Health Canada has issued a recall on certain Kingsman Fireplaces and Marquis Collection Skyline II/III series linear gas fireplaces. The recall is due to a fire hazard.

Fireplaces which are involved in the recall include Marquis VRB Series model, Kingsman ZRB Series, and Kingsman VRB. The affected fireplaces have a gap in the outer cabinet which may cause nearby wood framing studs to overheat, making it a fire hazard.

As of April 15, the company has received one report of scorched wood framing in Canada, with no reports of injuries. Around 10,520 units of the affected product were sold in Canada through dealers from January 2013 to March 2019.

Owners of the fireplaces are recommended to immediately stop using the recalled fireplaces, shut off the gas supply to the fireplace and contact the dealer where the fireplace was purchased to schedule a free repair.

For more information, please contact Kingsman Fireplaces at 1-855-593-3304 or through the Marquis Collection or Kingsman Fireplaces websites.
