Ottawa, ON — The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) announced the finalists for its 2023 CHBA National Awards for Housing Excellence. The award recognizes the best in Canadian new homes, renovations, community development, and residential marketing, according to the CHBA.
“Once again, this year, the finalists from this competitive national awards program showcase the breadth and innovation of Canada’s residential construction industry. This program isn’t just about luxury homes, though there are stunning projects among these finalists — it’s about capturing the full spectrum of homes and communities that Canadians live in,” said Kevin Lee, CEO of the CHBA. The awards will be presented during CHBA’s Home Building Week, held on Feb. 16 in Banff, Alberta.
A total of 48 awards will be handed out, across six categories, including the New Home Awards (16 in total), the Home Renovation Awards (12 in total), the Marketing Awards (12 in total), the New Home Spaces Awards (four in total), the Net Zero Home Awards (two in total), and the Community Development Awards (two in total).
This year’s competition saw around 800 entries from rural areas and large cities, from both small businesses and larger developers. Nearly 150 industry experts reviewed entries, judging submissions by images, floor/site plans, and project descriptions, according to the CHBA
In addition to the 48 awards mentioned above, the CHBA will also be handing out three major awards — the Design Excellence Award, Renovation Excellence Award, and Marketing Excellence Award. The three awards will be presented to the home builder or renovator who has achieved the best overall standing in the respective new home, renovation, and marketing categories.
