Registration is open for Canada’s national show for the plumbing and HVAC/R industries. The Canadian Mechanical and Plumbing Exposition returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre March 16-18.

With over 50 exhibitors CMPX is the largest plumbing and HVAC/R show in Canada. It will completely fill the 200,000 square foot North Building of the Convention Centre. Industry manufacturers will display and demonstrate the latest new products and technologies for every sector of the industry including air-conditioning, heating (forced-air and hydronics), plumbing, industrial, waterworks, water quality, piping, refrigeration, controls, software, ventilation, tools, test instruments, and vehicles.

“CMPX continues to be the biggest HVACR and Plumbing Show in Canada and it has achieved an unmatched track record over the past 40 years,” remarked show chairman Gerry Cellucci of Yorkland Controls.

One show for the entire industry

“The show theme is, ‘one show – the entire industry’ and that is a powerful attraction to exhibitors and attendees alike. CMPX has proven to be the most effective way to meet with the entire mechanicals industry, all under one roof, for three exciting days of networking, education and new technologies,” added Cellucci.

Daily breakfast keynote speaker sessions, held before the show opens at 10 a.m., are a new feature at this year’s event. Hydronic heating engineer, author and instructor John Siegenthaler has been announced as one of the speakers.

Other features will include the new “CMPX Connections” Show Floor Theatre. It will be the home for the CMPX 2016 Learning Forum; a schedule of educational sessions on industry technologies and trends as well as issues affecting the HVAC/R and plumbing markets. Moving all the seminars to the on-floor location is designed to be more convenient for attendees.

The New Product Showcase will return. It is a special area where a large display of the latest new products are gathered for easy viewing and judged by a panel of industry experts. Many companies plan their new product introductions for CMPX.

The CMPX Heating Systems Skills Competition will also return. Technicians, young and old, will compete for prizes and recognition.

Beware of hotel “scams”

A number of industry wholesalers will provide bus transportation to the show for their customers. Contractors are advised to check with their local distributor for participation and details.

Show organizers have arranged special hotel rates. Go to www.cmpxshow.ca for details. Organizers are advising visitors to deal directly with the hotel to get the best rate. “Please deal directly with your hotel of choice and beware of telephone or internet “scams” as the Show Committee has not appointed any official housing organizations and all the hotel properties deal directly,” said organizers in a press release.

The Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) and the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH) jointly present the show, which began in 1972.
