Budget constraints are one of the largest hurdles that homeowners need to get through to make the necessary upgrades to their homes to improve energy efficiency. To address this issue in Ontario, Enbridge is offering up to $200,000 for upgrades with the Affordable Multi-Family Housing program.
The program will benefit social and municipal housing providers, shelters, co-ops, rent-geared-to-income housing and eligible market-rate multi-family buildings. Incentives are offered up to $8,000 per building for an on-site energy assessment. For energy-efficient boilers and water heaters, $200,000 will be available under the program. Free in-suite upgrades such as showerheads and heat reflector panels are also available.
