Small- and medium-sized businesses could receive $80,000 worth of incentives towards a new boiler in commercial or industrial applications.

Edmonton, Alta — Boiler-related incentives are coming to Alberta. Under Emissions Reduction Alberta’s (ERA) Energy Saving for Business (ESB) program,  up to $330,000 in incentives will be offered. The program will help businesses reduce emissions, decrease operating costs, and grow operations while creating jobs and boosting the economy, reports ESB.

Through the program, businesses can receive up to $80,000 per boiler in incentives or up to $250,000 per project for the cost and installation of qualifying boilers.

Funding will be available for small- and medium-sized industrial and commercial businesses with a budget of up to $55 million.

Incentives, under the ERA,  are available for equipment upgrades and installations that include: motors and drives, compressed air, refrigeration, lighting systems, lighting controls, onsite generation, geothermal, HVAC, process heating, water heating, building envelope and windows, food service equipment, solar air heating, and agricultural lighting.

The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) will be offering an online webinar on Sept. 15 at 12 p.m. (MDT) to “learn how you can support your customers to take advantage of the incentives available within the program, manage customer applications, and, ultimately, save your clients money and help to reduce their emissions,” according to the trades association.
