The Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) has released the program schedule for its annual conference and annual general meeting, taking place from Sept. 20 to 22 at the Hilton Lac-Leamy in Gatineau. Que.
HRAI’s annual conference and meeting will bring together contractors, manufacturers, wholesalers, and industry leaders to explore the trends, innovations and policies shaping the future of HVACR.
“The HRAI annual conference has always been as much about relationships as it is about information. Throughout the event, attendees will have opportunities to connect with peers, exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and engage with colleagues from every corner of the industry,” said Sandy MacLeod, president and CEO of HRAI.
Conference program
This year’s theme for the conference is “unconventional,” with HRAI adding, “At a time when global markets are shifting, technology is advancing at breakneck speed, and public policy is increasingly influencing how Canadians heat, cool, and ventilate their homes and buildings, conventional thinking is no longer enough. Industry leaders must be prepared to challenge assumptions, explore new ideas, and navigate uncertainty with confidence.”
The conference begins Sept. 20 with a variety of optional off-site activities for guests. This includes ziplining and a craft brewery and distillery tour. Wrapping up the evening will be a cocktail and networking reception at the Canadian Museum of History.
Day two of the conference kicks off with breakfast and opening remarks, followed by three educational seminars. The opening keynote will be delivered by Bob Rae, a Canadian public figure and diplomat.
Next is a session titled “The AI in HRAI,” which will explore how AI is already transforming operations, decision-making, customer service, and competitive advantage across sectors, including HVACR. The last session of the day is a panel discussion titled “Global Forces Shaping HVACR.”
Optional activities available for guests on day two include a craft beer tour, an axe-throwing experience, and a casino gaming experience. In the evening, guests will attend HRAI’s awards dinner.
The final day of the conference begins with breakfast and morning remarks, followed by the mainstage keynote. Next is a session titled “U.S. and US,” which discusses the evolving relationship between Canada and the U.S. There will also be annual general meetings for the various divisions: contractors, manufacturers, and wholesalers.
Breaking up the day are two breakout session blocks (session information to be determined), followed by the closing keynote.
