Into a new century…

Viessmann is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2017 and is heading into its second century with the motto “100+ Into a new century”. It is hard to think of too many other companies that are 100+ years old, and such companies don’t get to stay in business for that long by pure happenstance or good luck. Throughout the decades, Viessmann has been fortunate to be able to develop many close relationships with market partners around the world whose loyalty has helped the company thrive and grow into what it is today – a multi-national company employing over 12,000 people.

Consistently developing and marketing top-quality, innovative and reliable products that our customers have come to trust is only one part of the story. The other part involves an uncompromising commitment to provide our market partners with ongoing, comprehensive, and consistent support.

Global presence, local commitment

Viessmann Canada headquarters, Waterloo, ON

Headquartered in Allendorf, Germany, Viessmann supports its international markets through numerous sales offices, production facilities and distribution centres in 74 countries. In Canada, Viessmann has had a physical presence for over 35 years. Today, the company’s Canadian headquarters is situated in a 55,000 ft² facility in Waterloo, ON, while another inventory/logistics centre, located in Langley, BC serves the West Coast. More than merely acting as distribution hubs, these facilities also house a state-of-the-art testing lab for residential and commercial boilers, fully-functional “live-fire” product showrooms, Viessmann Academy seminar rooms, a tech support centre, and much more. These services are supported by a staff of over 60 employees, dedicated to ensuring all our customers’ needs are looked after.

Viessmann Academy

The education and training of industry partners has been an essential part of the Viessmann corporate philosophy since the 1960s. Viessmann Canada offers a wide variety of year-round training courses at our Langley and Waterloo locations. Whether you are a consulting engineer, wholesaler, heating contractor, service technician or sales representative, you can experience state-of-the-art training by our experienced training professionals, geared specifically toward the needs of your industry segment. Can’t make it to one of our locations? No problem – simply sign up for one of our web-based training sessions. Past webinars are also available on our YouTube channel.

Tech support – there for you when you need it

The Viessmann TechInfo center sets the industry standard for customer service and technical support. Whether installing or troubleshooting, our Canadian industry partners can access expanded technical support with a single phone call. Six full-time dedicated technical support staff are able to offer expert advice on all Viessmann products sold in Canada.

Sustainable practices and environmental responsibility

Efficient use of resources, sustainability and a commitment to reduce our carbon footprint have long been part of the Viessmann guiding principles. In accordance with these principles, Viessmann Canada recently made a considerable investment by updating the boiler plant of its Waterloo facility. The addition of a commercial wood pellet-fired boiler to supply the majority of the building’s heating demand has resulted in it becoming virtually 100% fossil fuel independent. What’s more, wood heating is an eco-friendly alternative to fossil fuel heating systems. It is sustainable and carbon neutral. This means that any emissions resulting from the combustion of wood – a renewable fuel source – does not release any more CO2 to the atmosphere than it would were it to decompose naturally.

A look towards the future…

The global heating and energy market is undergoing a fundamental transformation. As Viessmann moves into a new century, the heating industry is facing powerful new challenges posed by a general shift away from fossil fuels to renewable resources for heat energy, new competitive challenges from non-traditional and often disruptive market entrants, as well as the growing interconnectedness and digitalization of products and processes. Viessmann is looking upon these challenges as it has always done – as opportunities. Opportunities for new innovations, for new ways of doing things, and for looking beyond our immediate industry for the heating solutions of tomorrow.
