MCAC meets in Florida

About 150 people attended the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada 75th Annual National Conference held at the Disney Yacht and Beach Club in Orlando, Florida Nov. 14-17.

It was busy conference as MCAC finds itself involved in many issues such as prompt payment, changes resulting from new governments and many other things. At the same time delegates were updated on constantly changing technology and cyber crime, among other issue, with a number of expert speakers. (Watch for a detailed report in Plumbing & HVAC Magazine.)
Members elected their executive for the coming year at the annual meeting:

Del Pawliuk, R.F. Contracting Inc., Sault Ste. Marie, remains president. Dave Flamand, Peak Mechanical Partnership, Saskatoon, is president-elect and vice-president western. Dave Holek, Lekter Mechanical Services Inc., Belle River, Ont. is vice-president central. Jack Bavis, G.J. Cahill, St. John’s, Nfld., remains vice-president eastern. Gaetan Beaulieu, Beaulieu Plumbing & Mechanical Inc., Edmundston, N.B., is secretary/treasurer. Richard McKeagan remains chief executive officer, MCA Canada, Ottawa.

 The next MCAC Annual National Conference will take place in Maui, Hawaii, November 6-9, 2017.
