Mercedes-Benz Canada is reporting a significant gain in its cargo van sales for 2017. The company ended the year with a total of 6,474 units sold, a 9.4 percent increase over 2016. While the company didn’t provide numbers for individual models, sales of the Sprinter cab/chassis unit increased by 55 percent while the mid-size Metris cargo and passenger vans saw 43 percent growth in sales.

The Sprinter and Metris vans placed second in the 2017 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in Canada awards, which recognize vehicle value in terms of overall lifecycle cost. It was the sixth consecutive time that the Sprinter placed second.

The Ford Transit 150 and Transit Connect took first in the large and small van categories. Vincentric (www.vincentric.com) is a company that measures total vehicle ownership cost.
