
Ottawa, ON — Skills Canada announces that Noah Harding and Tyler Cherkowski will represent Team Canada’s plumbing and HVAC sectors during the WorldSkills Competition.
The WorldSkills Competition is held every two years and inspires youth to discover the many careers available in the skilled trade and technology sectors.
“We are very proud of all these competitors, and we look forward to seeing them compete at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, as they strive to earn a place on the podium at this prestigious international event. These talented trade and technology champions represent our country’s future skilled workforce,” said Shaun Thorson, CEO of Skills Compétences Canada.
Both Harding and Cherkowski are students from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary.
Harding will participate in the plumbing and heating events. Cherkowski will feature in the refrigeration and air-conditioning events.

This year’s WorldSkills Competition is being held in Lyon, France, from Sept. 10 to 15, 2024. Around 1,500 competitors from more than 60 member countries and regions will participate in over 60 skill areas for the title of world champion in their respective trade or technology.
The skilled trades and technology sectors represented during the competition include manufacturing and engineering technology, information and communication technology, construction technology, transportation and logistics, creative art and fashion, and social and personal Services.
