Ottawa, ON — Ontario college applicants looking to discover a career in the skilled trades and technology industry can now do so via Skills Ontario’s new free app. The app is available for Apple and Android devices.

“We are thrilled to announce that our app is live,” said Ian Howcroft, CEO of Skills Ontario.

Through an aptitude quiz, quick links to partnered organizations, a calender of events and frequent scholarship and employment opportunity updates, users can see more than 150 career paths in the skilled trades and technology industry and find the path that’s right for them. The app will also be available in French.

“Inspiring the next generation of skilled trade and technology leaders is crucial to our success as a province, and we are looking forward to providing this unique learning opportunity to Ontarians. Skilled trade and technologies play an imperative role in our lives, and continuing to promote these fields and support the professionals working within them benefits us all,” said Howcroft.

Users who download the app can also win one of two prizes—either a Fire HD tablet or an Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset.
