Ottawa, ON — Skills Ontario Summer Camp regional registration is now open for school boards interested in reserving spaces for its students. The summer camp provides campers with hands-on activities relevant to the skilled trades while developing problem-solving and teamwork skills.
While in the program, campers will participate in hands-on workshops led by Skills Ontario counsellors and industry/college professionals that introduce them to various topics in the industrial, construction, motive power, services, and technology sectors.

Photo provided by Skills Ontario Summer Camp.The Skills Ontario Summer Camp will allow campers to explore careers in skilled trades through interactive games, industry tours and entrepreneurship programs. Some activities featured in the program include a robotic workshop, structure building, HVAC exploration, hydraulic arm assembly, automotive exploration, and more.
The camp also offers virtual workshops where campers are led through fun skilled trade and tech-related workshops, demonstrations, virtual tours, speakers and presentations. Sessions are led by Skills Ontario staff and volunteers.
Skills Ontario Summer Camp is a full-day program that runs from July to August, Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and is aimed at kids entering gGrades 7, 8 and 9. The program will run in various locations across Ontario, and the camps are facilitated in partnership with colleges, industries and community volunteers.
So far, the following camp locations have been confirmed, with more locations being announced soon:
- Linamar, Guelph (July 11-15)
- Loyalist College, Belleville (July 11-15)
- College Boreal, Timmins (July 18-22)
- Georgian College, Owen Sound (July 18-22)
- Confederation College, Thunder Bay (July 25-29)
- Linamar, Guelph (August 8-12)
- College Boreal, Sudbury (August 8-12)
- Durham College, Whitby (August 15-19)
Registration for the camp will be open to the public on March 21 at 4:00 pm, and an “early bird” rate will run from March 21 to April 10, and the fee is $195. Then, from April 11 and onward, the rate is $225.
