Ottawa, ON — Skills Ontario has unveiled its new “Trades and Tech Truck,” a mobile learning experience that allows people to explore the skilled trades. The Trades and Tech Truck made its debut at the National Home Show at the Enercare Centre in Toronto.

“Skills Ontario has been delivering workshops and programs focusing on experiential learning for many years, and we’re thrilled to amplify our impact through this new mobile unit,” said Ian Howcroft, CEO of Skills Ontario. “Skilled trade and technology careers are in-demand, well-paying, and fulfilling. We work to ensure that youth are aware of their opportunities in these fields.”
The truck will travel across Ontario, visiting schools and training centres in an effort to encourage more people to explore skilled careers. The truck will feature activities and simulators, including modules simulating auto-painting, welding, electrical systems and heavy machinery.
