This plumber/pipefitter is joining a number of different types of pipe with Viega ProPress.

Ottawa, ON — Canadian steamfitters and pipefitters are invited to review the draft of the new Red Seal Occupational Standard. A draft of the standard was developed at a national virtual workshop attended by trade experts and apprenticeship instructors from across Canada. After this online is complete, provincial and territorial industry and apprenticeship committees will review and validate this standard, reports the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada (MCAC). The deadline to submit the survey is Aug. 30.

The standard is divided into major work activities, which are broken down into tasks, which are further broken down into distinct sub-tasks.

The survey is completely voluntary and anonymous, though if you possess a Red Seal, the first digits of the Red Seal number will be requested. This would not identify the individual.

All comments will be forwarded to the provincial/territorial apprenticeship authority where the survey will be reviewed by their committee for consideration. To complete the survey, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3KKDV68.
