Regina, SK — SaskEnergy has changed its Residential Equipment Replacement Rebate program. Effective Aug. 17, 96 per cent and 96.9 per cent annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) furnaces are no longer eligible; revised furnace and boiler rebate amounts are available; and a 95 per cent minimum thermal-efficiency requirement has been introduced for qualifying replacement commercial boilers.

Through the program, rebate incentives include $325 for each eligible natural gas furnace, $750 for each eligible boiler plant up to 300 MBH, $800 for each eligible combi boiler, $1,000 for each eligible tankless water heater, and $1,000 for each eligible condensing water heater.

Under the program requirements, all units installed must use natural gas, be new, be identified on one of the eligible equipment lists available on SaskEnergy’s website, be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications, and comply with applicable laws, codes, standards, and ordinances.

Through the program, all eligible furnaces must have a minimum 97 per cent plus AFUE. All eligible boilers must have a minimum 95 per cent plus AFUE. All eligible combi boilers must have a minimum 95 per cent plus AFUE.

Additionally, all eligible tankless water heaters must have a minimum uniform energy factor (UEF) of 0.87. All eligible condensing water heaters must have a minimum UEF of 0.80.
