LG Electronics launched their R1 variable speed compressor at the 2020 AHR Expo, Orlando, Florida. Launching in late spring, the compressor is engineered for operation in residential and light commercial applications. R1 compressors (from 2 to 5-ton models) can be paired with VFDs and have an operational range of 10 to 150HZ. It features an overload protector, copper stubs, and precision-calibrated bypass valves that facilitate an easier start-up.
