Vancouver, BC — Technical Safety BC unveiled its new advertising and marketing guidelines for licensed contractors. The latest updates will require licensed contractors to publish their company name and Technical Safety BC licence number when advertising their services to the public.

The new regulation goes into effect on Sept 6. There are three phases for contractors to update their advertising materials.

Phase 1 requires digital sales and marketing materials to be updated with a Technical Safety BC licence number by Jan. 1. Phase 2 requires non-digital or offline sales and marketing materials to be updated with a Technical Safety BC licence number by Sept. 30, 2023. Phase 3 requires assets like vehicles and storefronts to be updated with a Technical Safety BC licence number by Jan. 1, 2024.

Technical Safety BC will also host three free information sessions to assist contractors during this transition.
