The Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) heads to the historic seaside destination of St. Andrew, N.B., for its annual business conference (ABC) this summer. Running from June 14 to 17 at the Algonquin Resort, this year’s ABC will see more than 150 leaders from Canada’s plumbing and heating community to network.
During the event, participants will have the best of both worlds — mixing business and leisure — with opportunities for connection, collaboration, and growth. The conference will include keynote speakers, interactive training sessions, and strategic discussions.
For the early arrivals looking for pre-conference fun, on June 13, participants have two optional activities — sports fishing and a wild coastal hike. The first day of the conference will begin with a round of golf, followed by two optional activities — a wild coastal hike and a maple dessert challenge. In the evening, the new delegates’ reception will take place, followed by the conference welcome reception and dinner. The new delegates’ reception is for first-time conference attendees. This event is an opportunity for new guests to network and get to know senior members of the HVAC/R industry.
Day two of the conference is where the business comes into full effect. The day kicks off with a breakfast and presentation by Ian Heller, founder and chief strategist for Distribution Strategy Group. The next business session will be with David Coletto, founder, chair, and CEO of Abacus Data. Day two’s optional activities include CIPH’s annual golf tournament, whale watching, foraging tour, and a tasting tour. The day will conclude with a reception and lobster feast.
Breakfast will once again kick off day three of the conference. Following breakfast, CIPH’s annual general meeting will be held. The first business session will start shortly after and will be hosted by Tareq Hadhad, founder and CEO of Peace by Chocolate. Hadhad is a Syrian refugee who now lives with his family on the East Coast and runs his family’s business. Following Hadhad’s session will be the Canadian Hydronics Council luncheon. Next up is the conference’s manufacturers’ agents meeting.
Optional activities for day three include a foraging tour and whale watching. The day will end with CIPH’s chair reception and banquet. For the last day of the conference, there is only one thing on the docket: the CIPH board of directors meeting.
The 2027 CIPH ABC is scheduled to run June 12-15 at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, B.C. The 2028 CIPH ABC will head back East at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront in Halifax, N.S.
