Calgary, Alberta — The Environmental Careers Organization (ECO) of Canada assists in advancing energy efficiency in Alberta’s commercial, institutional, and multi-unit residential buildings by conducting a research exercise. ECO Canada will be working together with the government of Alberta, Alberta Energy Efficiency Alliance, and Efficiency Canada.

The research exercise will ensure that an adequate supply of labour and skills are available to meet the demands for energy efficiency within new and existing buildings.

ECO Canada’s research exercise will be used to enhance employer capacity to advance energy efficiency talent in Alberta. The study and the strategy development are part of a larger initiative for capacity building to grow energy efficiency talent within Alberta.

As part of the exercise, ECO Canada has launched a survey to better understand the current and near-term energy efficiency workforce needs and challenges and guide the development of a strategy. This survey is confidential and the responses will only be analyzed in aggregate form.

Employers who have business in Alberta are encouraged to complete the survey as it will assist in the development of effective policies for the province.

The survey can be found using this link: Survey.
