Mississauga, ON — DeWalt announces it has awarded $200,000 in scholarships to 40 students across Canada and the United States through its Grow the Trades program. Since 2023, DeWalt has invested over $27 million and is committed to investing $60 million by 2030.
This year’s scholarship recipients are taking up careers in nine trades: electrical, carpentry, construction, HVAC, welding, plumbing, and more. Of the 40 students who received scholarships, five are Canadian.
The Canadian recipients include Alexa Hunter of British Columbia for construction; Darren Nagel of Ontario for mechanics; Jessie Goban of British Columbia for construction; Rachel Phelan of Ontario for construction/plumbing; and Vishav Pal of British Columbia for construction/electrical.
DeWalt adds that in 2025, 4,250 graduation kits were distributed to apprentices across 68 schools, 47 cities, 23 states, and over 18 trades.
