Chatham, ON — Students in Southern Ontario looking to explore a career in millwrighting or plumbing can do so thanks to a free hands-on training session.
The Tools in the Trades Boot Camp is hosting a session on Jan. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Postma Heating and Cooling, Chatham, Ont. This all-day session will see students work with tools and learn essential job skills. The all-day training will also connect students with licensed tradespeople, mentors, and industry professionals.
The boot camp is open for anyone aged 18 or older. In addition to helping students enter the workplace, the boot camp also offers retraining for industry professionals.
The Tools in the Trades Boot Camp is provided by Support Ontario Youth, a program funded by the Government of Ontario that supports apprentices, employers, and all stakeholders in the skilled trades industry by streamlining and simplifying the apprenticeship journey.
Boot camps run year-round, promoting careers in construction, electrical and plumbing, industrial, transportation and motive power, and service and horticulture.
