IAPMO seeking volunteers for technical committee

Ontario, California — The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is seeking volunteers for its Z1117 Technical Subcommittee (TSC).

Anyone with a background in plumbing and mechanical systems, with specific knowledge of electronic plumbing supply system integrity detection devices, is urged to apply.

IAPMO Z1117 specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings. Products covered include fittings, tubing and piping with press connection end combined with other types of connections such as threaded, soldered and push-fit. Carbon steel fittings and pipes covered by this standard are not used in potable water supply systems.

The Z1117 standard covers press connections made with copper or copper alloy fittings and Type K, L, and M copper tube; carbon steel fittings and schedule 10 and 40 carbon steel pipe; stainless steel fittings and schedule 5, 10, and 40 stainless steel pipe; or stainless-steel fittings and stainless-steel pipe complying with the dimensions specified in table 1.

Interested volunteers must submit a resume by Aug. 21.
