
Toronto, ON — EnerQuality announces the winners of its 2026 Building Innovation Forum and Awards (BIFA). This event recognizes builders, professionals, and organizations that are driving innovation and resiliency in Canada’s residential construction industry.
The focus for this year’s BIFA was resiliency, and the event aimed to celebrate the people and projects designing and constructing homes that can withstand a changing climate, meet evolving building codes, and deliver long-term performance for homeowners, according to the organizers.
During the event, LG Electronics Canada emerged as the winner of the innovation gauntlet for its residential cold-climate heat pump. The Innovation Gauntlet is a Dragon’s Den-inspired competition where manufacturers present their innovative projects and services to industry leaders.

- Green Renovation Project of the Year – Frontiers Design Build Inc.
- Green Renovation Project of the Year – Greening Homes Ltd.
- Green Marketing Campaign of the Year – BK Cornerstone Design Build Ltd.
- Innovation in Building of the Year – Empire Homes
- Young Industry Leader of the Year – Phil Santana, community development lead at Stelumar Communities
- Champion of the Year – Tara Gill, director of procurement at Activa
- Hall of Fame – Andrew Guido, vice president, sustainability, and innovation at Willowdale Asset Management
The 2026 BIFA was held on March 12 at the Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel.
