Ottawa, Ontario — The Ontario Building and Construction Tradeswomen (OBCT) committee is seeking responses from those in the trades for its new survey, which attempts to better understand the views regarding women working in the building and construction industry.
The survey will feature hundreds of employers, contractors, union officers, and other supervisory roles within the building and construction industry. Therefore, OBCT will only be looking at the cumulative survey results and not the individual responses.
The committee is looking to understand the public’s views regarding women working in the industry and why they tend to leave it. Due to some of the questions’ sensitivity, all responses will be anonymous and confidential.
Launched in 2020 by the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario (PBCTCO), OBCT is a committee that offers resources and a support system for women building a career in the skilled trades.
