Mississauga, ON — The Ontario government will be releasing its 2022 Budget on March 31. As such, the provincial government has scheduled a virtual consultation period to run until Feb. 11. Ontarians will be able to share ways they believe will improve the next Budget.
Additionally, the Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) is calling on its members to provide input on topics they believe should be included in the Budget through its own survey. Submissions must be sent to the association before Jan. 19.
A budget submission provides the industry with an opportunity to give the government recommendations on issues that are of concern to the industry as they begin to plan for the fiscal year of 2022-2023, reports HRAI.
Proposed topics for inclusion through the budget submission include the introduction of a home and building retrofit program, federal and provincial building code alignment, federal and provincial energy efficiency standards alignment, eliminating municipal heating contractor licensing, improving ventilation and IAQ standards and supporting workforce development.
