Halifax, NS — Ralph Suppa, president and general manager of CIPH, has been presented with the Joseph K. Seidner Award. Suppa was recognized during the annual Canadian Advisory Council on Plumbing (CACP) meeting on Aug. 16.
“Ralph Suppa is indeed a worthy and dedicated individual and shares the same remarkable qualities fundamental to all the JK Seidner recipients with traits such as commitment, perseverance, tenacity, persistence and a willingness to share his expertise. Ralph supports and promotes the volunteers from government and industry that do this important work and he makes sure their management is aware of all their contributions. This solidifies the commitment of the stakeholders to ensure our work can continue,” said the CACP.
Suppa first joined CIPH in 1988 and has worked closely with industry members, associations and government to develop policy, codes and standards. During his career with CIPH, he has managed the Canadian Hydronics Council, the Plumbing Industry Advisory Council, the Canadian Advisory Council on Plumbing, and other Councils and Committees within CIPH. During CIPH’s latest annual business conference in June, Suppa was recognized for his 20 years as president and general manager.
In 2002, Suppa was named president and general manager of the association, and recently, Suppa announced he would be retiring from both positions in December 2023.
The CIPH Board of Directors established the Joseph K. Seidner Award in November 2000 to honour Joseph K. Seidner, the first recipient and an industry leader and friend of CIPH. Mr. Seidner passed away in 2003 at the age of 96. The award honours his legacy in the standards community.
