Cambridge, ON — Two lucky plumbing apprentices have been awarded scholarships that will help cover their schooling.
Saniflo announced the recipients of its 2023 Saniflo Apprentice Journey Plumbing Scholarship. The scholarships are awarded to two apprentice plumbers who are undertaking or have recently undertaken their basic (Level 1) classroom training.
Damian Moffatt and Tara Lumley were the recipients of the 2023 scholarship.
“I am honoured and thankful to have been selected to receive the Saniflo Apprentice Journey Plumbing Scholarship. School and its associated costs can be a lot, and this will really help. It will allow me to better prepare for the next steps of my plumbing apprenticeship, paying for any extra resources I may need in completing my pursuit of becoming a Red Seal Journeyman. Thank you again for your generosity and support,” said Moffatt.
The scholarships will help to cover Level 1 tuition costs and books for the 2022/23 academic year.
In addition, Saniflo is offering ongoing support to help cover Level 2 and Level 3 tuition and books for qualified students who continue to pursue and complete all levels of the 306A Plumber (apprenticeship) College Certificate Program.

Students applying for the scholarships must be registered in Level 1 of the 306A Plumber (apprenticeship) College Certificate Program. Additionally, students must achieve grades of 75 per cent (3.5 GPA or B plus) and above, and they must have an attendance rate above 80 per cent.
“I am so grateful to receive the Saniflo Apprentice Journey Plumbing Scholarship. It will allow me to focus on advancing my plumbing career. It will also ease the stress of having to pay for textbooks and gas while in school. Thank you to Support Ontario Youth and to Saniflo for providing such a great opportunity,” said Lumley.
Saniflo’s Apprentice Journey Plumbing Scholarship is awarded in association with Support Ontario Youth.
