Registration is open for the Mechanical Contractors Association of Canada’s (MCAC) 2026 annual conference. Running from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2, the conference takes place in Kelowna, B.C., at the Delta Grand Okanagan Conference Centre and Resort.
This conference will bring together Canada’s industry leaders across the mechanical, plumbing, and electrical contracting sectors to connect, collaborate, and explore the issues shaping the future of the major trade contracting sector in Canada.
The 2026 annual conference will feature an extensive educational program with sessions focused on innovation, productivity, and the evolving regulatory and economic environment facing Canada’s contractors.
“This conference continues to be where our industry comes together to share ideas, strengthen relationships, and shape our collective path forward,” said Brad Mason, president and chair of MCAC.
Kicking off the education portion of the conference at 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 1 will be keynote speaker Mike Downie, the co-founder of Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund. Later in the day, at 2:15 p.m., Dan Leduc, partner at Norton Rose LLP, commercial litigation and construction law, will host a session on “Design by RFI: The Hidden Costs and Legal Risks of Delegated Design.” The schedule for the rest of the day includes an awards ceremony, breakout rooms, an innovation lunch and a tradeshow.
On Oct. 2, the first session of the day will be “Navigating the New Normal: Managing Supply Chain Risk for MEP Contractors,” at 9:45 a.m. The next session will be “How Expectations Are Shifting and What it Means for MEP Contractors,” at 11:00 a.m., followed by an annual general meeting and a state-of-the-industry panel for contractors.
The rest of the day will include a unionized contractors committee meeting, an associate committee meeting, a keynote lunch, and a board of directors meeting. MCAC will also feature its Innovation Showcase at the conference, highlighting tools and solutions transforming the mechanical and electrical contracting industry.
“The Innovation Showcase is an exciting opportunity for our members to engage directly with the technologies and ideas that are reshaping our industry,” said Tania Johnston, chief executive officer of MCAC.
In addition to educational and networking opportunities, the conference will feature a range of activities and events for guests. This includes the MCAC’s annual conference golf tournament, an evening event at Laurel Packinghouse, and a closing night gala at 50th Parallel Winery.
Throughout the conference, there will also be a first-time reception dinner, an opening night networking reception and an opening night dinner.
