SPX Corp. acquires commercial boiler and water heater manufacturer

By Plumbing & HVAC Staff on January 3, 2020 News

The Marley Company, a subsidiary of SPX Corporation, Overland Park, Kansas and Mississauga, Ont., has purchased Patterson-Kelley, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, – a manufacturer and distributor of commercial boilers and water heaters. The acquisition will broaden their HVAC platform in the high-efficiency boiler market. Patterson-Kelley will operate as a subsidiary of SPX.

“Patterson-Kelley’s strong brand, technology, and high-quality line of commercial boilers and water heaters are the perfect complement to SPX’s HVAC heating platform and Weil-McLain’s existing portfolio of commercial and residential boilers,” said John Swann, president of SPX’s HVAC heating, location and inspection groups. “This acquisition broadens SPX’s high-efficiency product offering and significantly strengthens our market coverage and application support capabilities.”

Patterson-Kelley has about 100 employees and has been in business for 100 years.
